Teacher Grade Bio

 


Angelique Louine

Kindergarten

Mrs. Louine received her Bachelors’ Degree from the University of Phoenix. She also holds aMasters’ degree in Human Resources Management from Walden University. In additional to her degrees, she obtained from Nova Southeastern University her Child Development Associate and Director Credential.


Mrs. Louine’s interest involves teaching and training children to help them achieve both, their academic and spiritual goals.

 

 

Heather Kelly

1st Grade Ms. Kelly received her Bachelors’ degree from Columbia Union College, now known as Washington Adventist University. She obtained Master's degree from Concordia University. In Ms. Kelly’s free time, she enjoys reading, traveling, and exercising.

 

 

Fernanda Alves

2nd Grade

Ms. Alves received her Bachelor of Science degree in Spanish Studies; and, post-graduate in Childhood Education. Ms. Alves loves traveling, photography, and fashion.

 

 

 

Luseny Alphonse

3rd Grade Mrs. Alphonse grew up in South Florida where she received her undergraduate degree and state certification in Elementary Education. She is married with two children. Mrs. Alphonse feels pleased and honored to teach in SAS, and to be able to work with our children to prepare them for service to God and their community.

 

 

 

 

Jessica Trana
4th Grade Mrs. Trana has been teaching at Sawgrass since 2017. She has a love and appreciation for Adventist education as she has attended Adventist schools from kindergarten all the way through college graduation. She is originally from the Midwest where she met her husband Brett Trana, but moved down to Florida to pursue her teaching career.

 

 

Nathalia Knott

5th Grade Mrs. Knott has been teaching in SAS upper-class grades in Language Arts since 2012. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from University of Florida; and, post-graduate in Education from Nova-Southeastern University. Mrs. Knott is married with three children. Her heart’s desire is to share the love of Christ with those she comes in contact with.

 

 

Candace Brown

Middle School:

6 – 8
Math & History
6th Grade Homeroom

Ms. Brown has been a teacher for 6 years. She began her educational journey at our very own Little Piece of Heaven Preschool. Ms. Brown specializes in Math but is also qualified in Science and Special Education.

 

 

Joyanna Flynn

Middle School: 6 – 8
Reading & Writing
7th Grade Homeroom
Ms. Flynn, is a Seventh-Day Adventist teacher who has a passion for learning. She has been a teacher in the state of Florida for 4yrs teaching Math, Science, Social Studies and STEM. Ms. Flynn received her Bachelors in Life science and her Masters in Science Education grades 6-12. She has a zeal for education and is excited to bring her enthusiasm and passion to our school. 

 


Dane Hurst

Middle School: 6 – 8
Social Studies
8th Grade Homeroom
Mr. Hurst has been a teacher for over 10 years in public school education and has been with SAS since 2019. He became a teacher to answer a calling from God to make a positive impact in his community and has been seeking to positively change lives of the kids & adults around him ever since.
